The Weirdness goes on....

Click on the headline to see the video of Jason talking. from foxnews:

Cruise, Travolta: Homo-novis

Is it a conspiracy or just bad luck?

The anti-Scientology video we told you about on Monday afternoon featuring actor Jason Beghe has been removed from YouTube. Sort of.

The original video, put up by videographer Mark Bunker, is gone. YouTube pulled it late on Thursday. In the video, which Bunker made, Beghe describes his 13-year membership in the sect and why he left.

Bunker thinks YouTube took down the video under pressure from Scientology. It’s possible, of course, but unlikely. The video is still up on YouTube in other forms, including here (warning: contains offensive language). It’s also easily found just by typing Beghe’s name into most search engines.

Bunker says YouTube cancelled his account because of previous copyright issues with other videos he’s posted. He says those issues have been cleared up and he should have had time to prove that before they removed the Beghe interview.

YouTube, which is owned by Google, is not the easiest place to get an answer from. Ricardo Reyes, the head of public relations, told me Thursday night, "There’s no conspiracy here." He would not say if Scientology had pressured the video posting site into taking down the Bunker/Beghe video. Reyes e-mailed the official YouTube stance to me later on: "We do not comment on individual videos."

Despite this little flap, Beghe’s video has taken off like a rocket. The Village Voice newspaper here in New York as well as several video outlets have picked up the story about his brave escape from the sect. Some have even taken our original stories without credit. C’est la vie in this case. It was just important that Beghe get his story out to the widest audience possible.

Beghe has more to say, and a longer video, some of which we’ll see here next week. The more he describes the Scientology experience, the scarier it sounds. As he told me the other day: "A Scientologist who’s ‘clear’ believes he’s no longer a Homosapien. He’s Homo-novis, a new race. They believe they are the only hope for this section of the galaxy, starting with planet Earth."

Yes, Tom Cruise and John Travolta evidently believe this, Beghe says.

And, yes, Beghe did confirm with me what he’s talked about on the videos: All Scientology sessions are taped. Every one of them, including those of Cruise, Travolta and all celebrities. Does Beghe care if his tapes ever get out?

"Hell, no," he told me. "They won’t do that anyway because then the whole thing comes out and everyone knows there are tapes. They can’t do anything with them."

Beghe also told me that one possible theory for why the careers of Scientologists tend to go south is that the famous actors, such as Jenna Elfman or Juliette Lewis, "get so involved in thinking only they can save the world" that the sect overwhelms them.

and from defamer.com:

Ex-scientologist Jason Beghe, an actor you probably don't remember from CSI and Numb3rs, posted a somewhat horrifying rant on YouTube yesterday in which he demonstrates just how crazy the religion can make someone, even after they've escaped its clutches. After spouting venom-laced theories involving "theta traps" and "reactive minds," Beghe tells us that Scientologists think they're "fucking doing something to save the planet." And in an interview with the Village Voice last week, he divulges yet more allegations about Tom Cruise's involvement, and has a warning for Will Smith:
"[Cruise] was out for like ten years...Some are out but don't talk about it. Why? The church is scary. These are bad motherfuckers...Let Will Smith know that his shit was fucking recorded. And tell him to look them in the eye and see if he believes it when they deny it."

In his VV interview, Beghe says the three-minute YouTube video "barely scratches the surface" of a much longer session he recorded with Operation Clambake leader Andreas Heldal-Lund and the Anonymous group's "wise beard man," Mark Bunker. Though Beghe seems to be attempting to shoot down Scientology's cred by claiming the religion "stunts your evolution" and saying members aren't happy even after spending enormous amounts of money to reach level OT-VIII (beyond Clears), his maniacal laugh midway through the clip is eerily similar to Cruise's high-pitched giggles. And while a member of the Church, Beghe was declared "clear as a fucking bell." If the actor's aggressive ranting isn't enough to scare potential Scientologists like Smith out of joining the Knights of Hubbard, his current state of insanity certainly is.

Oh my!

from Holy Moly!

Gold Swinger

Word from the set of the latest Bond movie, 'Quantum of Solace', is that the film is action-packed but the set even more so, as some members of the cast and crew have been whiling away the boring hours between shooting by indulging in orgies. Apart from buying hats, there's not much else to do in Panama, is there?

So...is she?

is Asshat-lee pregs?

from msn.com:

We're just a week into the great Ashlee Simpson Womb Watch of 2008 and already her alleged bundle of joy has pretty much jumped the shark.

As the remodeled starlet plays it coy over whether or not she and Fall Out Boy fiancé Pete Wentz are procreating, rumors have begun bubbling that her string-pulling dad, Joe Simpson, may be attempting to parlay the stork speculation into a big payday.

"Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover," a magazine insider tells the New York Post. "The deal would include photos of Ashlee -- taken by Joe, of course, so he can make more money -- an interview and photos of the baby when she has it."

And while there have apparently been some nibbles for the exclusive, the moolah probably wouldn't be enough to cover a single shopping spree at a swanky baby boutique.

A magazine editor tells the paper the snaps would bring in "$60,000 maybe, but definitely not a million ... Joe has an unrealistic expectation of what Ashlee can command."

The editor also points out that "the timing is a little suspicious," what with the release of Simpson's album and clothing line next week, and snipes, "There was little to no interest until now. Ashlee's lucky she got pregnant, frankly."

Brrr, that's cold.

Posh gets PWND!!!

soooo sweet, so funny! from foxnews:

LOS ANGELES — Following reports that high-end boutiques have pulled Victoria Beckham's denim line DVB Style, the British beauty and her fashion publicist made an emergency appearance at Kitson boutique in West Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon.

According to eyewitnesses, the former Spice Girl left notably shaken and teary after being told off by Kitson owner Fraser Ross.

"First of all, she came half an hour late, no call or anything. I'm a busy person — don't know who she thinks she is," Ross told Tarts. "I told her that she needed to grow up and realize that you can't just have a line and not support it. Other celebrities do trunk shows and meet customers — she and her fashion publicist Jason needed to be told why her line isn't selling."

Ross (who claims to have spent $100,000 investing in Posh's collection) said this was the first time in nine months she had "bothered" to meet with him and that numerous stockists in Europe also had dumped DVB.

"She (Beckham) told me that designing is what she still wants to be doing in 25 years, but unless she lifts her game, her time in this city will be short-lived," Ross added. "She lives 10 minutes from the store yet is happy to go off shopping at Barneys and all these other places but seems to think she's too good to support the people who support her."

Ouch. But this certainly isn't the first design dilemma in which the pop princess has been embroiled. Becks designed a line for jeans giants Rock and Republic, but after a reportedly bitter battle with the company in 2006 she left to launch her own rival line.

"Her reputation was damaged after all of that, and I was the one who helped her and found her the manufacturer," Ross claimed.

But even though Vic apparently was "very receptive to making changes" after the scolding, she still wouldn't totally succumb.

Apparently, Ross asked her to "show her support" by strutting out with a Kitson bag — but that didn't go down well with our Posh.

Mass Exodus from C of $ begun?

a $citard has left!

from fox news:

Television Star Exits Scientology

Ruggedly handsome actor Jason Beghe was best man at the wedding of "X-Files" star David Duchovny (his childhood pal) and actress Tea Leoni. In 1998, he starred as Demi Moore’s love interest in "G.I. Jane." He’s been featured in numerous TV dramas such as "Criminal Minds," "Numb3rs" and "CSI."

In 2005, Beghe appeared in promotional spots for the Church of Scientology. But now, Beghe has escaped the church after taking courses since 1994. He’s made a video that’s up on YouTube.
This is what he has to say: "Scientology is destructive and a rip-off."

He also says: "It’s very, very dangerous for your spiritual, psychological, mental, emotional health and evolution. I think it stunts your evolution. If Scientology is real, then something’s f---ed up."

You can see from the video that Beghe does not mince words. But his refreshing candor about the religion he joined in 1994 should shake the Celebrity Center to its core.

"It ain’t deliverin’ what it’s promised. It sure has not."

The video is billed as a three-minute teaser to a longer interview with Beghe that’s on its way. But the short video packs a powerful punch. Beghe still uses a lot of Scientology lingo like "OT" and "clear." Still, it’s quite easy to understand the point he’s making. After 14 years and a tremendous amount of money, he’s seeing Scientology in a different light.

Beghe has completed so many courses that he’s considered a top Scientologist, or "OT 5" — similar to Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. But Beghe reveals: "The further up the bridge, the worse you get."

He adds: "I don’t have an agenda. I’m just trying to help. I have the luxury of having gotten into Scientology and after having been in it, been out. And that’s a perspective that people who are still in and not out do not have."
