Drink up!

I found this on female first:

Some good news for drinkers - a little tipple regularly may halve the chance of developing rhematoid arthritis.

These results, were presented at the annual European Congress of Rheumatology on Friday, suggested that at least three units of alcohol per week had protective effects and ten units furthered this protection.

Rhematoid arthritis, which affects more than 20 million people all round the world, is a degenerative inflammatory condition where the body's own immune system attacks joint tissue.

But this isn't the first study that has show the health benefits of alcohol when drunk in moderation, previous research has highlighted possible benefits against heart disease, strokes, some forms of cancer and maybe Alzheimer's.

Henrik Kallberg, who conducted the research, from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm said: "These data now show not only that alcohol can protect against RA and reduce the risk conferred by smoking or susceptible genes, but also give an idea of the relevant doses necessary."

However more research is required to unravel the science that exists behind the connection

on a related note, here's a beauty tip: mix a glass of red wine with one pint of plain, whole yogurt, keep in the fridge. Use this on you face to cmobat wrinkles, it's an inexpensive AHA cream! Be careful if if itches though.
