Robert Dowdy Juror Post!

yes I stole that. whatever. from contactmusic.com:

Oscar nominee ROBERT DOWNEY JR. is expanding his theatrical repertoire - by writing a stage musical.

The star, who lost out on a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award on Sunday (22Feb09), has revealed he has been working on the project for a number of years, and is tirelessly trying to get it finished.

Downey Jr says, "I'm a little busy right now. Every two years or so I'm saying that I am going to do a big musical; I'm just tired of saying that I am going to do stuff that sounds cool. If I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it."

And he insists he isn't just trying to cash in on his fame and recent career resurgence - because he has always considered himself to be a musician.

The Iron Man star adds, "It's always lame when somebody gets really famous and they say they're going to be a singer. I'm like, 'You've already won the lottery, so take it easy, moron!' But I'm also a composer and I sing what I write."

Downey, Jr has already tasted a little musical success - his 2004 album The Futurist was well received and he also recorded a Christmas album with Vonda Shepard.

Don't Be Jelus, BB

Granted, TDK moved fast and it could be hard to keep track of what was going on.....but that's part of what set it apart from other films. But RDJ doesn't think so. I can't hate you, Robert. Oh, and feel free to start a TDK party in the comments. From digital spy:

Robert Downey Jr. has admitted that he is not a fan of The Dark Knight.

Downey Jr., whose Marvel superhero film Iron Man was the highest-grossing film of the year until Christopher Nolan's sequel debuted, told MovieHole that he found the latest Batman movie too complicated.

He explained: "It's like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I'm like, 'That's not my idea of what I want to see in a movie'.

"I didn't understand The Dark Knight. Didn't get it, still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy."

Downey Jr. suggested that the DC Comics adaptation was "highbrow" and required a "college education to understand".

He added: "You know what? F*** DC Comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from."

I just came twice

Washington (ANI): Robert Downey Jr has reportedly been roped in to play Playboy boss Hugh Hefner in a big-screen biopic. After impressing the legendary porn mogul with his 'Iron Man' act, the star's name has been suggested for playing Hefner in the film, aptly titled 'Playboy'. The philandering Playboy boss liked the former hellraiser's portrayal of wealthy playboy Tony Stark in 'Iron Man', so much so that he just wants Downey Jr to play himself on celluloid.

Reports from Illinois newspaper the Chicago Sun-Times, have suggested that Hefner wants the Golden Globe-winner to start shooting the movie in summer 2009. In fact, the 43-year-old star is also keen to, if in case the script fits the bill, reports Contactmusic. Apollo 13 filmmaker Brian Grazer has reportedly been roped in as the film's producer.
