LOS ANGELES – A plan to bury Michael Jackson at his sprawling Neverland ranch fizzled Wednesday, leaving details about his funeral undecided as another mystery was solved: His newly unveiled will says his mother should raise his children, or failing her, Diana Ross.

The changing funeral circumstances disappointed many Jackson fans who had descended on the estate in the rolling hills near Santa Barbara with the hope of attending a public viewing.

"We're terribly disappointed," said Ida Barron, 44, who arrived with herhusband Paul Barron, 56, intending to spend several days in a tent.

"We were going to listen to music and watch Michael Jackson DVDsand party all night long, not just to have fun, but in memory of Michael Jackson," Paul Barron said. "Now we're going to have to just go home."

Jackson's 7-year-old will, filed Wednesday in a Los Angeles court, gives his entire estate to a family trust and names his 79-year-old mother Katherine and his children as the beneficiaries. The will also estimates the current value of his estate at more than $500 million.

Meanwhile, newly named Jackson family spokesman Ken Sunshine said a public memorial was in the works for Jackson but wouldn't be held at Neverland. In addition, it appeared more likely that a funeral and burial would take place in Los Angeles, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.

But the person, who is not authorized to speak for the family and requested anonymity, said nothing was planned for Neverland, at least through Friday.

"The family is aware a Neverland burial is not possible. They are expected to make decisions about whatever funeral and memorial service" will take place, the person said.

Heavy construction equipment and workers were seen passing through the wrought-iron gates of Neverland on Tuesday. It wasn't clear what they were doing. The property is about 120 miles northwest of Los Angeles

In Los Angeles, Jackson's lawyer John Branca and family friend John McClain, a music executive, were named in the will as co-executors of his estate. In a statement, they said the most important element of the will was Jackson's steadfast desire that his mother become the legal guardian for his children.

The will, dated July 7, 2002, gives the entire estate to the Michael Jackson Family Trust. Details of the trust will not be made public.

The documents said Jackson's estate consisted almost entirely of "non-cash, non-liquid assets, including primarily an interest in a catalog of music royalty rights which is currently being administered by Sony ATV, and the interests of various entities."

Here are a few bullet points:

– Because of double jeopardy, anyone accused of a crime will never have to defend themselves for the same allegation twice unless one trial takes place in civil court and the other in criminal court. This was the situation with Michael Jackson in 1993.

- Up until that point, the alleged victim’s mother June Schwartz had maintained that Jackson was innocent of the allegations. As soon as the civil suit was filed, however, she changed her tune and joined forces with her ex-husband Evan Chandler and their son Jordan. At that point, June Schwartz’s divorce attorney Michael Freeman resigned. “The whole thing was such a mess,” he explained. “I felt uncomfortable with Evan. He isn’t a genuine person, and I sensed he wasn’t playing things straight.”

- The civil suit was filed while the police investigation was still ongoing. As a result, the civil trial was scheduled to take place before the criminal trial began which would have been a violation of Jackson’s constitutional right to not self-incriminate. Typically, when there are two trials dealing with the same allegation, the criminal trial takes place before the civil trial (i.e- the O.J Simpson case). This is to ensure that the Defendant’s defense in the criminal case will not be compromised as a result of the civil proceedings.

- Jackson’s attorneys filed a motion asking for the civil trial to be delayed until after the criminal trial was over. They cited numerous cases such as Pacer, Inc. v. Superior Court to support their request. The Federal case held that, “when both criminal and civil proceedings arise out of the same or related transactions, the Defendant is entitled to a Stay of Discovery and trial in the civil action until the criminal matter has been fully resolved.” Other cases cited include Dustin W. Brown v. The Superior Court, Dwyer v. Crocker National Bank, Patterson v. White and Huot v. Gendron.

- If Jackson had not settled the civil lawsuit, he would have put his entire defense strategy in jeopardy by revealing it to the prosecution months before the criminal case went to trial.

- Let’s pretend for a moment that Michael Jackson had gone through with the civil trial. What would have happened? He would have presented the court with all of his evidence of extortion and Sneddon would have been watching the entire thing unfold. He could have then taken Jackson’s most critical exonerating evidence from the civil trial and found ways to discredit it so that Jackson would have nothing left to defend himself with in the criminal trial.

- In civil trials the jury’s verdict does not have to be unanimous. If at least 50% of the jurors find the Defendant liable, the Plaintiff will still get money.

- The civil trial would have taken months to resolve. Michael Jackson would have been paying millions of dollars in legal fees while at the same time limiting his source of income by putting his career on hold. There was probably also a lot of pressure from his record company to settle the lawsuit because the case was affecting his career.

*From a personal standpoint, I do not deny that whatever MJ was doing with children seemed a bit shady or suspicious. Maybe he felt like he could only really trust children, that they wouldn't try to take advantage of him like adults could. Maybe he was trying to recapture his lost youth. I don't know, I wasn't there. I don't want to believe that he molested children. But then he was a grown man and I'm certain that as he was human, he had sexual urges.

I don't want to believe that those urges were used on children. At the same time, I hate liars, especially people who lie about being molested in order to take advantage of someone's celebrity. I hope that the truth will be brought to light. Let's remember that Jordan, the alleged victim of abuse, chose not to testify in the criminal case.

I do find the point interesting though, that someone would accept money from an alleged child molester instead of pursuing to the ends of the earth to have the accused put away in prison forever for touching their child. I shall always remember Michael Jackson as a Beloved Weirdo. You are truly among the stars now, MJ.*

TAMPA — Billy Mays, the TV pitchman whose trademark voice helped sell everything from cleaning supplies to baking soda, was found dead this morning by his wife at his Tampa home. No cause of death has been reported and no foul play is suspected, according to Tampa police.

Mays, 50, was pronounced dead at 7:45 a.m. at 2853 Bowen Daniel Dr., #1201. His wife, Deborah Mays, found him unresponsive this morning. The Medical Examiner's Office will complete Mays' autopsy by tomorrow afternoon.

"Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days," Deborah Mays said in a statement today. "Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times."

Mays was a passenger Saturday of the 737 aircraft that took a hard landing at Tampa International Airport, an airport spokeswoman said.

TMZ has confirmed TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead today in his home in Tampa, Florida.

According to the Tampa PD, Mays was pronounced dead at 7:45 AM.

The 50-year-old was found by his wife early this morning.

TMZ has learned Mays' body has already been removed from his home.

There are reports that Mays had just returned from Philadelphia, where he shot a new Oxiclean commercial.

We're told Mays was at his home around 6pm last night, and according to a source Mays was "acting fine and normal ... he was talking business with his father-in-law."

Farrah Fawcett, the standard for all sexy icons to follow, died today at 62. She took Michael Jackson with her, NBC is reporting that he died today also, of cardiac arrest. The world shall now come to a screeching halt.

Michael Jackson has died at age 50 after being rushed to UCLA Medical Center, NBC News has confirmed.

Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told the L.A. Times that Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home and CPR was performed.

TMZ.com reported that he may have suffered cardiac arrest.

Jackson had been due to start a series of comeback concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer, whose hits included “Thriller” and “Billie Jean,” had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months.

A source also confirmed the split to Us Weekly.

"They have been having trouble for a while," the source told Us Weekly. "It's been hard for a long time since Miley has been working so much and traveling a lot."

However, distance may not have been the only factor behind the breakup.

It’s become a real-life War of the Roses for supermodel Stephanie Seymour and her billionaire husband Peter Brant.

On Thursday night, the Greenwich, Conn. police responded to a 911 call from the estranged couple’s estate, and it was “not the first time we’ve been out here,” Lt. Richard Cochran said.

Seymour, 39, has moved into the estate’s guest house while Brant, 62, who was out of town Thursday, continues to occupy the main residence.

Cop cars arrived on the scene after getting the emergency call from Seymour’s assistant who reported “banging and screaming.”

Seymour claimed that Brandt’s security guard Joseph Babnik had prevented her from entering the main house, and that she’d fallen after he pushed her.

BANGKOK/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s U.S. television show "Kung Fu," was found naked and hanging dead from a rope in the closet of his luxury Bangkok hotel room Thursday, Thai police said.

No signs were found of other people in the room and the body of the 72-year-old actor was sent to a hospital for an autopsy, police said. Results are expected on Friday.

"He was found hanging by a rope in the room's closet," Lieutenant Colonel Pirom Jantrapirom of the Lumpini police station in Bangkok told Reuters.

Carradine, from a family of performers and the eldest son of character actor John Carradine, enjoyed a long career on Broadway, television and in movies such as director Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill: Vol. 1" and "Kill Bill: Vol. 2."

Representatives for his Los Angeles-based talent manager said the actor was in Thailand to shoot a film called "Stretch," and while several media reports speculated his death may have been a suicide, a spokeswoman said neither they nor his family believed Carradine was capable of killing himself.

"His family is in shock," said Tiffany Smith of Carradine's management firm, Binder & Associates. "They have the same belief we have. There was no way David did this to himself."

Smith declined further comment pending the police report.

In his 1995 autobiography "Endless Highway," Carradine wrote that he tried to kill himself when he was 5 years-old.

The book also described his extensive drug use, ranging from LSD to cocaine, and ended with a chronicle of his efforts in the mid-1990s to get sober by attending a support group for alcoholics.

The chemistry between the two were undeniable, and the popularity of the couple was pretty big. Why, oh why didn’t they last? For whatever reason, the agent of the female persuaded her to call it quits. Sounds like a modern-day Jane Austen novel. The female listened reluctantly and now the damage is done. We hear she wishes with all her heart that things were different.

Here's Lady Gaga's Love Game for your weekend pleasure! It's a good video actually, it has a few subtle references to an old "art film" called the Night Porter....and it's actually cleverly done. The video portrays a sexual awakening with a lot of symbolism going on. Pay attention! Personally, I think this is her best song released so far. Enjoy!

I do agree with Rich Fourfour....what's next for Gaga? Can she possibly top herself? Aside from the whole '80's space fashion she's sportin around (which, having been around during that time, seeing it again sorta makes me *yawn*), I do understand what point she is trying to make. What I see from her, in my perspective, is an attempt at trying to blend raunchy sexiness and intellectualism into a smoothie of mainstream pop culture. She's not just trying to get your attention, she wants you to think about where she got that idea. This is not unlike Madonna in her heyday, say with Girlie Show, where Madge was dragging out porn and raunchiness into the bright light of popdom or with the whole S&M theme she was tossing at us in the 90's.

But unlike Madonna who just wanted to show, Gaga seems to be trying to tell us also. She wants us to not only see the raunch and the obvious sex that is so often used as an attention getter but to pay attention to the underlying themes being told. Such as with Love Game, where she descends into the tunnel of physical love clad in white, presumably as a virginal symbol on a quest, then turns the whole thing into a personal game, adopting clothes from her sexual conquests, going from one experience into another. Soon, at the end, she has become the master of the realm, lording over all in her black Night Porter inspired costume. It almost seems like all she had been with have become her playthings. Anybody else catch on that the cop turns into a woman?

I'm not sure how successful the effort will be, it almost seems that Gaga is throwing pearls before swine with such obscure references veiled in her performance. I almost have to wonder if she's such a film geek that she feels this awful urge to share. But that's what I see.

Her voice is solid enough, she's not nasally with her vocals like Beyoncé, Rihanna or even Xtina. She has a good appreciation for vocal subtly not found with many pop singers as well, she knows she doesn't have to power out every note. She has a solid sound, she can pull off a live show with no problem. I have great expectations for her pop act to grow. I'm expecting to see Gaga progress and mature her sound, giving us something that is truly special in the pop music world. I hope she doesn't disappoint.

But then, maybe I'm reading waaaay to much into it.

It's a different world!

Since this is the end of a nice long weekend, I wanted to bring it to a close with a downer....that being that fact that oui, there is a smoking ban in the city of lights, the city of love, Paris France.  You can find out about it using Google search, here's one tidbit from MSNBC.com.....please note the date:

PARIS - A ban on smoking in public spaces came into effect Thursday, a change that may alter the image of a country defined in part by its smoky cafes and cigarette-puffing intellectuals.

France’s 15 million smokers will be banned from lighting up in workplaces, schools, airports, hospitals and other “closed and covered” public places. More than 175,000 agents are to enforce the ban, handing out fines of $88 for smokers and $174 for employers who look the other way.

In a year, the ban will extend to cafes and restaurants — sure to be the moment of truth for a certain image of France, where writers like Albert Camus and Jean-Paul Sartre are remembered with cigarettes dangling from their mouths.

Bussac said he has done his workplace smoking on his office balcony, allowing him to carry on with business on the telephone. Starting Thursday, he will have to smoke in the street.

Apparently being the world’s sex and drugs capital isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Amsterdam is hoping to shut down about half of its brothels and half its marijuana shops, theDaily Telegraph reports. Already this year, 109 of the city’s 482 sex “windows” have been shuttered. “Money laundering, extortion and human trafficking are things you do not see on the surface,” explained the deputy mayor, “but they are hurting people.”

Holland has been drifting away from its famously permissive culture. The country recently banned psychedelic mushroom sales, and two border towns want to close their drug shops altogether. By closing the brothels, the deputy mayor says Amsterdam will attract different kinds of tourists. “We can still have sex and drugs,” he said, “but in a way that shows the city is in control.”
